
Born and raised in Tokyo, Aoi Saito is a graduate of the Tokyo University of the Arts, where she studied with Prof. Asako Urushihara, Prof. Natsumi Tamai, and Prof. Masafumi Hori. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree at the Berlin University of the Arts under Prof. Latica Honda-Rosenberg.
She has participated in masterclasses with, among others, Miriam Fried, Leonidas Kavakos, and Mihaela Martin. She gained important musical insights at the Seiji Ozawa International Academy
from Seiji Ozawa, Sadao Harada, Nobuko Imai, Kazuki Yamada, Suyoen Kim, Julien Szulman.

Aoi has received numerous awards at competitions and festivals, including the Michael Hill International Violin Competition 2023 in New Zealand, 1st prize at the Violinwettbewerb der Ibolyka-Gyarfas-Stiftung in Berlin, and most recently the Balik Prize from the Villars Music Academy.
She has performed with orchestras such as the Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and has appeared at many festivals, including the Miyazaki International Music Festival and La Folle Journée in Japan.
As an enthusiastic chamber musician, she has been invited to the Seiji Ozawa International Academy Switzerland, Zermatt Music Festival Academy, Villars Music Academy, and Chamber Lab Montecastelli.
Aoi currently plays a violin by G. B. Guadagnini, generously loaned by the Berlin University of the Arts.
Since 2024, she has been a scholar of the Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz Foundation.
